The project idea stems from the healthcare system's need for rapid laboratory methods for the diagnosis of CoV-2 infection, associated with a shortage of commercial reagents and kits. The project aims to develop a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis protocol able to detect the presence of viral RNA in a large number of biological samples, in a short time (24h), at reduced costs and with increased sensitivity.
