The ICSC Foundation, established in July 2022, was created to manage the National Research Center in High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research through PNRR funds. The foundation has 51 founding members spread throughout the country, both public and private, from science and industry sectors. The new National Center, which will become fully operational from September 2022, will network and systematize the specific knowledge, skills and resources of entities operating throughout Italy in multiple fields, with the aim of building a distributed and transversal infrastructure to support scientific research and the productive world in the innovation and digitalization of the country. The Sardinia AeroSpace District –DASS Scarl was established in October 2013 with a definite goal: stimulate the collaboration between research centers, universities, space companies available in Sardinia to reach significant business opportunities and suitable occasions for growth and innovation in the space segment. Currently, the DASS Scarl’s shareholders are represented by 24 companies, i.e. Accademiasapr Srl, Aermatica Srl, Aeronike Srl, Avio SpA, Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali ScpA, RINA Consultig – Centro Sviluppo Materiali SpA, Fondazione di Sardegna, Gem Elettronica Srl, Geodesia Tecnologie Srl, Innovative Materials Srl, Karalit Srl, Lion Consulting Srl, MR8 Srls, Nemea Sistemi Srl, Nurjana Technologies Srl, Oben Srl, Opto Materials Srl, Poema Srl, Soliani Emc Srl, Space Srl, Spacearth Technology Srl, 3D AEROSPAZIO Srls, UavItalia Srl and Vitrociset SpA, and 5 public institutions, i.e. Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CRS4 Surl, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Università di Cagliari, and Università di Sassari. For Sardinia region, the technological aerospace district represents a fundamental element towards the realization and the management of an industrial network able to develop competitive solutions to be properly proposed to qualified national and international customers. As a new model of development, the challenge taken up by the DASS Scarl is linked to the consolidation and integration of the competences of all expertise in the aerospace sector, already developed at regional level. The ability of DASS Scarl to integrate all the regional players of the technological and productive supply chain together with research institutions, is made possible by the adoption of an innovative model of governance able to ensure the representation required by each member and at the same time to use a collaborative system of project & knowledge management on which all partners work independently albeit considering an integrated view. In addition, the transversal actions implemented by DASS Scarl to focus and address the regional strategy in the aerospace field, include: vocation and training and high education, technology transfer and communication and internationalization.

The Istituto Tecnico Superiore Efficienza Energetica Sardegna established in 2010 is the first ITS authorized to operate in the region of Sardinia.
To date it has 10 completed two-year courses, 7 in operation and 5 starting for the 2021/2023 training offer, for a total of more than 100 graduates.
Initially operating only in the territory of Macomer, since 2018 the Foundation has started and concluded courses in different areas of the region allowing young residents of the island, to be able to specialize in the branch of energy efficiency.
