CRS4 researchers have created the first models of genomic information through the openEHR formalism, leading an international collaboration with other research groups.
openEHR is an international consortium that for over 15 years, through the issuance of technical specifications, data models and software, provides standardized tools for the semantic and computable description of clinical data, in particular those contained in the electronic patient record.
The new models are publicly accessible within the openEHR Clinical Knowledge Manager to support the semantic interoperability of data related to variants derived from the sequencing of the entire genome and exome, facilitating the sharing of information between different centers and the long-term reuse of data.
