2017: the Journal of Geophysics and Engineering publishes the article "CRS theory based on a data-driven homeomorphism" in which the CRS4 group Imaging and Numerical Geophysics formalizes a new interpretation of CRS theory that leads to an innovative method of 3D time imaging, independent from the subsurface acoustic velocity and constructed in the data space as an optimization problem driven by a time-of-flight model.
This paradigm shift opens new perspectives on industrial processing in media with low seismic response.
