Researchers at CRS4, under the guidance of Gianluigi Zanetti, and in collaboration with Stéphane Zaleski (Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris), develop new techniques for multiphase fluids based on Navier-Stokes equations, for example to simulate air and liquid fuel mixtures with explicit interface tracking.
The work has had a strong impact and has produced both relevant scientific publications and a widely used code (SURFER).
