CRS4 develops Search in Italy: the first Italian search engine dedicated to Italian web sites.
Search in Italy, created by Gavino Paddeu (at the time in the SciViz group) contained an archive of 106,337 web pages that were periodically downloaded from the 660 Italian web servers existing at the time.
The following year was released a new version that showed the resources cataloged geographically with a Java applet.
