The engineering and environmental problems related to the investigation of the subsoil, studies of characterization of hazardous pollutants, campaigns of archaeological research and geotechnical investigations often require quick and reliable answers. For these purposes decision makers require methods of investigation of the subsurface providing results almost in real time and at the same time are accurate, with good resolution, use less invasive methods and good value in the result and the cost incurred.
