CRS4 is organising the first Italian openEHR day, in collaboration with Sardegna Ricerche, Better by Marand, Inpeco and Dedalus.
This event aims to promote the vision and opportunities offered by the openEHR initiative. openEHR is an international consortium of different professionals from the clinical, IT and academic worlds, that has been providing standardized tools for the semantic and computable description of clinical data for over 15 years. By releasing technical specifications, data models and software, the community works actively to promote life-long interoperable electronic health records (EHRs) based on standardised, computable and semantically enriched health data. This vision has grown on the belief that an improved quality of clinical data can ensure better outcomes, both in clinical practice and in research.
During the event, leading experts from the openEHR Foundation will introduce the main concepts behind the openEHR formalism and its application. A set of significant use cases will be presented, such as the HiGHmed Project in Germany, the European-Canadian Cancer Network (EUCANCan) and the 100,000 Genomes Project by Genomics England, to help the participants to better understand how openEHR approach can be applied in practice. A special session will be dedicated to the relationship between openEHR and HL7 FHIRⓇ, their approach to interoperability from a technical and modelling perspective, and how they can be combined to achieve the combined benefits of both.
The workshop will be held on the 6th of June, at the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia in Pula (Italy).
English will be the official language of the event.
