Enrico graduated in Physics in 1990 at Pisa University, with a thesis on hardware and software for the Stanford SLD detector. Successively he spent three years developing 2-3D Gross-Neveu lattice models at Pisa University Physics Theoretical Dept. In 1994 he joined the CRS4 and started working on parallel algorithms and models for acoustic and EM wave propagation, for geophysical (Agip, Unica) and biomedical (Esaote) applications. In 2005 he collaborates with the CRS4 System Biology group, developing statistical analysis of gene/protein intreaction complex networks, and methodology for reverse engineering of microarray data. In 2008, in collaboration with Bioinformatics group, he focuses on data-mining force field development for Molecular Dynamics, with an original multiscale approach that can be tailored to specific biological problems. This research line resulted in a joint international patent on molecular properties prediction. He collaborated in developing a human mitochondrial DNA haplogrouping algorithm, deposited in sourceforge. In 2010 he had a short collaboration with the CRS4 AGCT group for parallelization of genotyping and data selection algorithms. Since 2005 his main interest is Computational Chemistry, he worked on polymer simulation and particularly collaborates with Binaghi Hospital in Cagliari to develop molecular models of multiple sclerosis onset, and with Cagliari University to model specific inflammation processes. Occasionally he writes books, develops e-learning projects on physics didactic, lectures on medical devices, physics, computer/mathematics modeling, audits R/D and ICT EU projects. Recently he tutored a studente graduated in Biology, an Agenzia del Lavoro trainee and and Indian PhD student during her 3rd year outside fellowship. Enrico holds a Master in Bioinformatics and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
