CRS4, under the National Program "Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro”, is hosting three students from the Liceo Scientifico Michelangelo in Cagliari (Alessandro Meloni, Matteo Porcu, Michele Prefumo, all taught by Maria Cristina Mereu) for a week-long educational internship.
The students, supervised by Luca Lianas and Massimo Gaggero (researchers in the CRS4's Data-intensive Computing group) will complete a training course on the topic of OpenData, with a focus on aspects pertaining to citizenship and healthcare awareness. The course will take advantage of the open datasets shared by the Comune di Cagliari and Regione Autonoma della Sardegna.
During their hands-on sessions the students will identify real phenomena they would like to explore. They will focus on the problem of identifying pertinent datasets that can provide insight into these phenomenon though their analysis, visualization and integration. The students will implement their ideas through the development of simple web applications.
