CRS4 researcher Massimo Gaggero partecipates to the fifth edition of Smart Cityness 2018 with the talk "The project Tessuto Digitale Metropolitano: Where we stand" (September 22nd, EXMA Conference Hall, via San Lucifero 71, Cagliari).
The project "Tessuto Digitale Metropolitano - TDM" (2017-2021) aims to offer innovative and smart solutions to increase city attractiveness, resource management efficiency and the safety and quality of life of citizens, through the study and development of enabling technologies and innovative vertical solutions for the protection from environmental risks, energy efficiency awareness and cultural heritage management. Methods and applications will be tested and validated in the city of Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy), using advanced communication infrastructure and widespread distributed sensor network. TDM research activities are complemented by a dissemination and training plan that will include the organisation of three Summer School on Urban Informatics (2019, 2020, 2021).
The project is part of a broader framework that aims to make Sardinia one of the most important regions in the development and application of innovative technologies for smart cities. In particular, project experiments will be carried out at a metropolitan scale by means of a framework agreement with the city of Cagliari and will make use of the computing and networks infrastructures of the Joint Innovation Center, located in the POLARIS Technology Park (Pula, Cagliari).
TDM is a collaborative project between CRS4 and the University of Cagliari, funded by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia by the POR FESR 2014-2020, Azione 1.2.2 (Delibera 66/14, 13.12.2016, "Progetto Complesso Area ICT" of S3).
