The CRS4 has signed a framework agreement with the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (RAS), through its Department of Programming, Budget, Credit, and Land Management – Regional Programming Centre (CRP). The agreement aims to support the promotion of Sardinia’s territory, resources, and strategic projects, showcasing the region’s innovation and productive capabilities at Expo Osaka 2025, which will take place in Japan from 13 April to 13 October 2025. Sardinia’s participation in the Expo is planned for late June.
The agreement, which also involves the Regional Department of Industry, includes CRS4’s development of immersive applications utilising virtual reality, spherical photography, and 360° video technologies. These tools will promote destinations, events, and itineraries, helping Sardinia in its national and international initiatives to support territorial development strategies and enhance the island’s economic, social, and cultural competitiveness.
Giacomo Cao, Sole Administrator of CRS4, stated: “The Centre is proud to collaborate with the Region of Sardinia on such a significant endeavour as participating in Expo Osaka, following on from our contribution to Expo Dubai 2021. CRS4’s recognised role in this context reflects a shared vision for strategic decision-making, particularly in intellectual property protection, which has driven key achievements in artificial intelligence. These technologies, applicable to sectors such as tourism, marketing, logistics, and security, could also feature prominently in Osaka.”
