CRS4 at the International IHE PaLM Meeting in Chicago

Alessandro Sulis coordinates the technical committee on interoperability in healthcare information systems

The IHE PaLM Face2Face Meeting (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) is taking place these days in Chicago (October 28–30, 2025), bringing together experts and representatives from international organizations to discuss guidelines and standards for healthcare information system integration.

The CRS4 plays a leading role with the participation of Alessandro Sulis, from the Visual and Data-intensive Computing Sector, who coordinates the activities of the technical committee. The sessions focus on laboratory information system integration, digital pathology, and biological sample traceability.

For more than fifteen years, CRS4 has been actively contributing to major international standardization bodies in the healthcare domain — including openEHR, HL7, and ISO — promoting interoperable solutions that enhance the quality and sustainability of healthcare services.

These coordination and guideline development activities are carried out within the framework of the ToPMa project (Intervento RP_CRP_077, FSC 2014-2020 – Patto per lo Sviluppo della Regione Sardegna) and the XDATA project (Contributo ex art. 9 L.R. 20/2015, RAS SR, Progetto Istituzionale).
