The CRS4 Visual Computing group is participating in the 31st International ACM Conference on 3D Web Technology (Web3D 2026), taking place from October 13 to 15 in Doha, Qatar, at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU).

Giovanni Pintore, a researcher in the CRS4 Visual Computing group, is participating in the conference as Program Chair and as a panelist in The Future of Immersive Content: Generation, Modeling, Standards, and Interaction from an Application Perspective, which explores future developments in immersive digital content. His contribution focuses on indoor 3D reconstruction, applications of artificial intelligence in architecture and interior design, and the creation of immersive experiences from panoramic images.

The scientific program also includes two contributions involving CRS4 researchers.

The paper PanoGS: Foundation-Depth-Guided High-Resolution Gaussian Splatting from Sparse Panoramic Images for Interactive Web3D Exploration, co-authored by Giovanni Pintore and Enrico Gobbetti, presents an approach to high-resolution 3D reconstruction from a limited number of panoramic images, combining artificial intelligence models and Gaussian Splatting techniques to enable interactive exploration of 3D environments on the Web.

The tutorial AI-Augmented Panoramic WebXR: Foundation Models and Generative Pipelines for Immersive Indoor Experiences, co-authored by Marco Agus, Giovanni Pintore and Enrico Gobbetti, explores the integration of panoramic images, generative AI models and WebXR technologies to create immersive indoor experiences.

CRS4’s participation in Web3D 2026 is part of its ongoing research activities in computer graphics, 3D reconstruction, and the development of technologies for visualizing and interacting with digital environments.
