Elsi Ferro is a researcher in the Visual and Data-Intensive Computing (VIDIC) sector at CRS4. After graduating in Physics of Complex Systems at the Department of Physics of the University of Turin (2018), she worked as a researcher and later as a PhD student at the Department of Applied Science and Technology of the Politecnico di Torino and at the Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine (IIGM, Candiolo), collaborating also with international institutions including the University of Buenos Aires, where she spent part of her doctoral training. She then obtained her PhD in Physics (2024) and continued to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Politecnico di Torino, before joining CRS4.Her main areas of expertise concern mathematical modeling and computational simulation of biological processes, in particular transcriptional genomics, post-transcriptional mechanisms, and regulation between proteins.
