CRS4 with CTE Digital Lab Cagliari at Expo 2025 Osaka

On 8 September 2025, the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti – CTE DLab of Cagliari took part in a meeting at the Italy Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, dedicated to the theme “Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti: innovation from Italian territories for the cities of the future”.
The delegation from Cagliari, led by the Municipality of Cagliari, included CRS4 (with Lidia Leoni and Giuliana Siddi Moreau), the University of Cagliari, and industrial partners Abinsula, Widata, and Greenshare, together with other Italian CTEs present at the event promoted by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT).

CRS4’s contribution areas

As part of the activities of the CTE DLab, CRS4 presented contributions and experiments in areas with a strong impact on smart cities:

  • Mobility and decision support: models and tools for forecasting travel demand and optimizing urban services.

  • Urban and environmental sensing and monitoring: platforms integrating data on urban heat islands (UHI), air quality, crowding, and urban safety aspects.

  • Exploratory research: activities on quantum computing and communication for future use cases in mobility and cybersecurity, presented within the CTE framework.

A showcase during the Italian Week at the Italy Pavilion

The meeting was part of the Italian Week at the Italy Pavilion, a thematic week in which the Pavilion hosts cultural, institutional, and technological events to highlight Italian projects and expertise within the official Expo calendar (which includes National Days, Special Days, and thematic weeks).
