Eurographics GCH 2026 and the ACM JOCCH Special Issue “Visual Heritage”: The Scientific Contribution of CRS4

The ACM Journal on Computing and Cultural Heritage (JOCCH) has opened the call for papers for the Special Issue entitled “Visual Heritage”, organized in collaboration with the Eurographics Workshop on Graphics and Cultural Heritage (GCH 2026), which will take place in Barcelona from November 2–4, 2026.

The Special Issue focuses on innovative research in computational technologies applied to cultural heritage, including computer graphics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, visualization, human-computer interaction, and interdisciplinary approaches to documentation, analysis, and preservation.

CRS4 is involved in both the scientific organization of the event and the associated Special Issue. Enrico Gobbetti, Head of the Visual and Data-intensive Computing (ViDiC) sector at CRS4, and Ruggero Pintus serve on the Steering Committee of the Eurographics Working Group on Graphics and Cultural Heritage and on the Editorial Board of the Journal on Computing and Cultural Heritage as Associate Editors.

In this context, Ruggero Pintus also serves as Program Chair for the Full Papers track of Eurographics GCH 2026 and as Guest Editor of the ACM JOCCH Special Issue “Visual Heritage”.

The Special Issue welcomes contributions on topics including advanced digitization of cultural heritage assets (3D scanning, multispectral imaging, and non-invasive techniques), AI-driven and multimodal analysis approaches, visualization and collaborative research environments, FAIR datasets, and immersive technologies for heritage access and interpretation.

The submission deadline is March 1, 2026. Papers accepted in JOCCH will be presented at Eurographics GCH 2026.
