Green Energy Network Ecosystem towards Secure Interoperable System

The GENESIS project – Green Energy Network Ecosystem towards Secure Interoperable System – falls within the scope of the “Green Powered Future” (GPFM) mission of Mission Innovation 2.0, specifically within the strategic area of “Data and Network Digitalisation”. GENESIS addresses the theme of “Interoperable digital platforms”, with the aim of developing an interoperable digital platform for the advanced monitoring of power transmission and distribution networks and renewable energy generation facilities, enabling the integrated, efficient and flexible management of Renewable Energy Communities (RECs).
Specifically, the project plans to conduct a field trial in a pilot area, where innovative digital solutions will be implemented to optimise the operation of RECs, promote the aggregation of distributed resources and demonstrate the benefits for the stability and quality of the electricity grid. The approach is based on an advanced network architecture that integrates cutting-edge connectivity technologies (fibre optics, 5G, edge computing, QKD) to ensure low latency, secure data transmission and system resilience.
CRS4 will be responsible for the development of QKD technology, the design and development of the platform, and optimisation for energy balancing using quantum or hybrid solvers
