The project aims at developint an innovative architecture, designed for cloud environments, for supporting storage, distribution, andinteractive exploration of very high resolution point clouds generated by latest generation sensors. This enabling technologu is thenintegrated in vertical application with a clear market. The software platform will be based on innovative state-of-the-art methods developed by CRS4 and GEXCEL, and will include the following components:- processing and fusion of massive point clouds of potentially unbounded size;- archival and scalable compression of multiresolution databases, with local and remote access;- efficient distribution of point cloud based on a cloud-enabled application server;- interactive illustrative visualization of unstructured point clouds on multiple platforms, including desktop PCs and mobile devices;- multi-sensor hardware/software platform for developing vertical solution to be applied in industrial scanning applications- complete prototype for handling 3D measurement in difficult environmental and/or climatic environments;- content manager for fast viewing and publication of 3D measured data.
