NUE is a research and development project that aims to design and develop a cloud computing web platform, suited to ensure the storage, analysis, reuse, promotion and management of multimedia content libraries, usable through any connected device.
The video content that feeds the platform ranges from art films intended for a niche film market to ancient amateur and documentary footage and stock footage.
The project tends to develop two different directions in two distinct sections at the front-end level:
- on the one hand, it aims to create an evolved, blockchain-based VOD system that will create purpose tokens to reward voluntary support of the Community, expendable both in terms of governance (voting rights) and for the purchase of NFTs in the marketplace dedicated to the Community. The experimentation of this platform feature will be carried out with the help of video material made available free of charge by the Babel Cultural Association, organizer of the Babel Film Festival, which will make available for experimentation more than a thousand titles from all over the world;
- on the other hand, it aims to put online digital archives intended both for viewing and eventual reuse with the possibility of personalized downloads according to different categories and policies. The experimentation of this functionality of the platform will be carried out with the help of the video material made available for free by the Sardinian Cineteca with the “Family Cinema” project.
NUE also proposes the experimentation of an innovative business model based on microservices for the community and a distributed governance and rewarding system based on Blockchain, smart contracts and NFT.
