On the occasion of the release of the new CRS4 website, I am delighted to present a new medium via which the centre will communicate its scientific activities, both in-house and to the outside world.
We call it RtoR (researcher to researcher) and it is a blog dedicated to the scientific activity of CRS4, written by researchers to communicate the latest news about our activities to other researchers, but also to students and entrepreneurs.
Therefore, the contents will be technical-scientific, but we plan to use a style that’s not too formal, in order to complement the complexity of the subjects by handling them in an attractive style. Since this is a blog, the articles can be commented upon, subject to moderation by the curators, to encourage debate and enable in-depth study.
The format will generally be the same and the contents will be structured around a research topic with a brief introduction to put the subject into context, an interview and a conclusion with any references and links.
For example, the starting point could be a recently published scientific paper, the beginning or end of a project or even the publication of a book, the announcement of a discovery, participation in conferences or other important matters. As throughout our website, the contributions will be available both in Italian and in English in order to reach a wide audience.
It will be the responsibility of us all to recommend new topics, to actively participate with interviews and multimedia contributions or simply to advise the reading of RtoR to other researchers.
I would like to thank Fabio Maggio and Andrea Mameli who came up with the idea and who will be the curators of the blog, Ernesto Bonomi who started the blog with his contribution and I hope you enjoy reading it.
