The Research Programme is active in the field of smart technologies and intelligent environments, environments able to "feel" what happens inside them, and develops its work in constant connection with the local productive system, in terms of knowledge sharing and technology transfer. In this context, through the involvement of industrial players, businesses and public institutions, a set of projects has been built mainly focused on mobility, logistics and environmental modeling, that are part of the wider domain of the "Smart Cities". The main results concern the domains of Internet of Things, WebGIS and environmental modeling, with applications also in sectors such as agriculture, cultural heritage and tourism. In the context of the so-called "downstream" segment of the aerospace sector, the Programme integrates the skills and knowledge acquired in the field of digital technologies with aerospace technologies, particularly satellite.
