Carole Salis, a senior researcher, focuses on Educational Technology. She graduated from the University of Montréal, Canada. Since 1993, she has been dedicated to the study and design of systems and approaches based on Instructional System Design (ISD), enhancing technological innovation in support of teaching and learning.
She currently coordinates the Edutech group, which is engaged in researching and developing new methodologies for remote access to European technical-scientific laboratories through a project named RIALE-EU, funded by the Department of Public Education. Her work is centred on the situational approach to facilitate secondary students' processing of new information, in connection with complex experiments conducted by scientific experts, partners of the project.
The RIALE-EU project is rooted in previous initiatives, notably the IDEA project and Line B2, part of the Tutti a Iscol@ program funded by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, involving hundreds of students in the regional territory. It has experimented with the "School Without Walls" approach to develop skills within the natural cycle of learning: school, social environment, and home, with the support of augmented reality. Furthermore, it has explored the use of Artificial Intelligence to foster an interdisciplinary approach in education and has published several scientific articles in specialized journals and conference proceedings.
Carole holds a Master in International Cooperation Management from the ASVI school in Rome.
