CRS4 researchers Massimo Deriu, Federico Bachis and Marco Massa attend in the conference Archaeological Sardinia 3D, with a prototype showcase of the SARIM project, which aim is to apply Immersive Virtual Reality to Tourism and Cultural Heritage sectors presenting a selection of sights and places to visit in Sardinia through the application of a realistic perception offered by VR headsets.
Massimo Deriu (Game-based Interaction and Technologies program head) will attend a round table on cultural tourism and archeology, which will be held on October 11, at 3 pm.
The conference, organized by Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Assessorato al Turismo) and Geasar SpA, will be held on 11, 12 and 13 October 2019 (Olbia, Costa Smeralda Airport).
During Archaeological Sardinia 3D visitors will have the opportunity to discover the CRS4 DigitalMonteprama project through the projection of a video that shows its results: from the post-restoration acquisition of shape and color of the statues, to their elaboration/reconstruction in 3D and their restitution in different ways, such as graphic rendering for museum applications or 3D printing of tactile models, etc.
In addition, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia will present the online 3D visualization of the Monte Prama sculptures. CRS4 Visual Computing contributed to the creation of simplified models of the statues, derived from the high-resolution models of the DigitalMonteprama project.
