Alessandro Sulis and Vittorio Meloni renew the contribution of the CRS4 in the field of integration between clinical systems, being part of the international evaluation commission at the IHE Connectathon 2020, the European edition of the "interoperability marathon" taking place from 2 to 5 November. The aim of the event, for the main manufacturers of systems that manage clinical data, is to demonstrate compliance with the integration guidelines defined by the international consortium IHE Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, by passing communication tests, evaluated by experts specialized in the development and application of standards. The Connectathon, in all its editions (Europe, Asia and America), is also an essential moment to test in the field the integration profiles developed by the technical committees of IHE, where clinicians, researchers and developers define models and standards for the main clinical processes for an effective exchange of patient information, in order to improve the usability of data and the quality of care paths.
CRS4 also collaborates with IHE since 2010 through its participation in the activities of the Technical Committee of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, within which CRS4 leads the development of an integration profile dedicated to the traceability of biological samples (Specimen Event Tracking Integration Profile).
