From the 22nd to the 26th of July 2019, CRS4 and the regional agency Sardegna Ricerche host at the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia in Pula the Face To Face (F2F) meetings for four IHE domains: Pharmacy, IT Infrastructure, Patient Care and Coordination, and Quality, Research and Public Health.
The Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) consortium is the main international institution for the definition of best-practices in the use of clinical standards. It involves clinicians, researchers and clinical system vendors in collaborative discussions with the aim to define main clinical use cases and processes in profiles (IHE Profiles) and to promote the adoption of standards, and to create and manage technical documents, including implementations guidelines: IHE Technical Frameworks.
Since 2010 the Digital Health Research Program at CRS4 actively collaborates with IHE in the PaLM Technical Committee and at the moment is the leader for the development of a new Specimen Event Tracking (SET) Profile for specimen traceability.
The F2F meetings are a key moment in the development of the guidelines for interoperability, since they allow direct face-to-face collaboration between experts in the field, supporting the improvement of information sharing between health information systems, which are essential elements for effective and safe patient care.
