In an era characterized by constant change and timely decisions, the ability to extract knowledge from large flows of information is a key source of competitive advantage for organizations, as well as of social well-being.
\nTo meet these opportunities, the DEEP project will develop a prototype platform for data analysis and forecasting, capable of real-time processing large flows of textual and visual content originated from multiple sources characterized by a high-frequency of production.
\nThe project covers different research activities, including:<\/p>\n

  • the study and validation of algorithms for the semantic analysis of text (structured and not) in order to extract in real-time trends, behavioral patterns, implicit knowledge;<\/li>\n
  • the study and validation of techniques and algorithms for the interpretation of visual content, such as techniques of computer vision and deep learning for the identification and categorization of objects, people, contexts and landmarks;<\/li>\n
  • the study and development of scalable solutions for real-time processing of the above data streams.<\/li>\n

Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Cagliari in 2010. He then worked for a few years as analyst and developer, in particular in the development of Salesforce and iOS applications. In 2014 he joined the Digital Media Applications group of the ICT sector at CRS4, working initially on automatic people recognition in videos within the ACTIVE project through machine learning techniques. He then partecipated in other research projects, studying and utilizing deep learning techniques for image and video classification and content based retrieval in several fields, from traffic analysis to tourism. He become an Expert Researcher in 2021 and he joined the Digital Technologies Sector in 2024. He began his career as an analyst and developer at Accenture S.p.A., working between Rome and Cagliari. His passion for electronic systems later led him to work as a freelancer with Innovandy and to collaborate with several companies in Rome, including Gestione Elettroniche S.p.A. and Soonapse S.r.l., gaining experience in the Internet of Things and M2M sectors.In 2015, he started a collaboration with Medispa S.r.l. in Milan on the design of a management and monitoring system for medical devices, in partnership with CRS4.
