{"id":13307,"date":"2025-07-03T18:19:02","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T16:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crs4.it\/projects\/techus-grid\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T12:33:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T10:33:09","slug":"techus-grid","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/www.crs4.it\/en\/projects\/techus-grid\/","title":{"rendered":"TECHUS GRID"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The research project TECHUS GRID aims at the realization of a platform (proof of concept) for the operational and accounting management of Dynamic Energy Communities (DECs); DECs represent an evolution of &#8220;static&#8221; energy communities because they integrate &#8220;dynamic external&#8221; factors such as environmental well-being within the property and daily habits in energy use by users to the concept of energy sharing. The platform, in fact, returns energy balancing results, not only based on the energy produced and consumed, but also on the basis of information on environmental well-being conditions within the property, acquired through environmental sensors and on the basis of user load curve profiles interpreted by an AI algorithm that performs a pattern recognition and load disaggregation analysis on the acquired profiles.  The platform, therefore, will implement an intelligent management model that can make decisions for the economic valuation of the shared energy used by the individual user based on information on consumption profiles and environmental well-being within the property. On the management model, in addition, solutions for accounting for energy exchanges among peers at the local level will be investigated by exploiting blockchain technology. He works for two year as a mechanical engineer for a private company, designing special valves for refinery plants.  Since 1999 he works at CRS4, where he gains experience in mechanical simulation and in scientific programming on parallel machines. He is involved in several projects: the design of fission fragment space propulsion system for the Italian Space Agency, the design of several equipment of the LHC and other experiments for CERN, the simulation of elastic wave propagation in various fields, the design and simulation of a solar power system, among others.  In 2008 he works at CERN as a scientific associate developing simulation software for beam dump studies. He works as an expert software engineer in the Distributed Computing Group. Currently he deals with software development for high-performance computing infrastructures, virtualization and distributed storage. In the past, he has worked in the biomedical field, developing interfaces and applications with health informatics standards such as DICOM and HL7. His research interests are related to           meteorological mesoscale ensemble prediction, climatic           modelling and environmental data analysis. Currently, between           the others, he is involved in the EU-H2020 Netfficient project for the           development of a energy production, from renewable sources,           forecasting system. Recently involved in the EU-FP7 CLIMB           project in which CRS4 evaluated and compared the skill of           various regional climate models as boundary conditions for           hydrological modelling scenario studies in the Mediterranean basin area. Within           the projects GRIDA3 and CYBERSAR, funded by the Italian           Research Ministry (MIUR), he was involved in setting up a           multi-model multianalysis limited area ensemble to be run on a           GRID infrastructure and\/or remote computing portals. Since 2000 she works as researcher at CRS4. Currently, she is working in the Environmental Sciences program since January 2006. Her interests are related to the application of numerical models and other computational tools to analize meteo and climatological data, the application of limited area models for the prediction of extreme events,  the implementation of ensemble prediction systems, the  Regional Climat Models downscaling.
