characterized by the growing adoption of renewable energy sources and the electrification of transportation, <strong>microgrids<\/strong>\u00a0represent a key solution for managing energy production and consumption\u00a0locally and flexibly.<\/p><p>The main challenge lies in optimizing\u00a0complex and variable energy flows\u2014including\u00a0renewables, storage systems, and electric\u00a0vehicles\u2014while\u00a0maximizing self-consumption and reducing\u00a0dependence on the grid.<\/p><p>To address\u00a0this\u00a0complexity, we propose an energy management system based on intelligent\u00a0algorithms and supported by an IoT platform, capable of coordinating\u00a0heterogeneous devices in real time and managing\u00a0advanced\u00a0scenarios\u00a0such\u00a0as V2G and V2V.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a1a1d8b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"a1a1d8b\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/smartenv-crs4\/cmc-iot\">framework CMC-IoT<\/a>, is\u00a0designed to plan, simulate, and manage energy flows in real time within a microgrid\u00a0among the nodes of an energy community. In particular, the algorithms\u00a0developed are geared\u00a0toward\u00a0managing loads that can be adjusted and deferred\u00a0according to demand-response\u00a0logic, with a focus on smart charging of electric\u00a0vehicle fleets in parking lots\u00a0powered by renewable sources.<\/p><p>IREM uses rule-based\u00a0deterministic\u00a0algorithms to manage energy flows between\u00a0vehicles and system components (photovoltaic systems, storage batteries, the grid, and charging stations).<\/p><p>The platform\u00a0is\u00a0not\u00a0based on rigid\u00a0assumptions\u00a0about future demand and is\u00a0therefore\u00a0robust\u00a0against\u00a0operational\u00a0variations and unforeseen events. The system is\u00a0supported by a predictive control model that\u00a0optimizes\u00a0charging by shifting\u00a0it to times of peak energy production, continuously\u00a0analyzing production, availability, and consumption\u00a0parameters to ensure\u00a0efficiency and stability. IREM can operate both\u00a0during the design phase, supporting system sizing, and during the operational\u00a0phase, efficiently\u00a0managing energy
