Between 2000 and 2002  she worked as a researcher at &#8220;Neuroscienze scarl&#8221;, a neuropharmacology  research center in Cagliari. In 2003, she took a master&#8217;s on science  dissemination at the &#8220;Il rasoio di Occam&#8221; school of Turin, a post degree  professional course.  She later proceeded in this field in Rome, working  as a scientific journalist trainee at the &#8220;ANSA&#8221; press agency, in the  press office of the &#8220;Comitato Telethon Fondazione Onlus&#8221; and for the &#8220;Un  Camper per la Scienza&#8221; project of the Adriano Buzzati&#8217;s Foundation, a  project aiming at getting young people interested in sciences. In 2006  she started working at CRS4, dealing maingly with scientific  communication and informal science education. The comprehensive strategy tackles the problem from different viewpoints, the originality of the Line B2 is the attention paid to the introduction of Technology in the IDLs used in extracurricular activities. The IDLs were developed based on pupil\u2019s interest for technology. Emphasis was placed on problem solving, teamwork, cooperative learning, learning by doing, and social learning. System is based on the integration of different kinds of scientific data: molecular structures; biological activity data, such as bioassay results; pharmacological data describing the effects of molecules on the human body. Data are collected from different sources (e.g. publications, PubChem, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)), and are curated to to remove redundancies and assert coherence. The resulting datasets are analyzed with machine learning algorithms to extract important patterns and relations between molecular structrure and activity, from which derive predictive activity models The end result is that for a given new molecule, the system will provide a probable activity profile, and flag high risk situations. The \u201cMan simulator\u201d will be used in virtual screening for new lead compounds and to identify drug candidates that have a high risk of unintended side effects.
