Dynamic medical volume visualization. The approach employed is a dynamic direct volume rendering technique supporting low-latency and high frequency rendering of shaded semi-transparent materials. The dataset is a time varying 256x256x105 8 bit/texel volume rendered on a window of 320x240 zoomed to 640x480 resolution in about 50 msec per frame on a PC with a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5800 Ultra AGP 8X graphics board.
