Our goal is to create new scalable technologies to acquire, create, deploy, explore and analyze complex objects and environments, as well as to integrate them into interactive visual simulations and virtual environments. Our research activities encompass many aspects of visual computing and include topics such as computer graphics, scientific and information visualization, computer vision, image processing, display design, and user interfaces. The application domains span many areas of science, architecture, engineering and humanities. Our research is widely published, and many of our technologies have been integrated in real-world applications in fields that include, but are not limited to, internet geoviewing, scientific and medical data analysis, surgical training, and cultural heritage study and valorization.
