Alessandro Concas

Alessandro Concas is Expert Researcher at CRS4 since 2003. He got his Master Degree (cum laude) in Environmental Engineering at the University of Cagliari in 1999 and his PhD in Geoengineering at the University of Cagliari in 2003. Since 1999 he worked at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Cagliari (Italy) thus gaining typical skills of the Chemical Engineering sector. In fact, at CRS4 he has been involved in Chemical Engineering, Combustion and Chemical Processes and, in particular, in the last years in Bioengineering projects with a focus on the production of biofuels through microalgae. Fields of expertise are in chemical reaction engineering, combustion chemistry, self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, machanochemical reactions, bioengineering and bioenergy. He has been involved, also as scientific responsible, in several projects sponsored by European Community, MUR, Sardinian Regional Authorities, and by national and international industries. He is reviewer of several international journals in the field of environmental, chemical and biological engineering. From 2012 he is member of the editorial board of two International scientific journals. From 2013 he is member of the theaching staff of the International PhD school in Environmental Science and Engineering and from 2015 also in Science and Technology for the Innovation at the University of Cagliari. In 2017 he attained habilitations as Associate Professor in the sectors 09/D3 (systems, methods and technologies of chemical and processing engineering) and 09/D3 (plants and processes of the chemical industry). He is coauthor of about 50 papers published in international journals and about 50 proceedings of international conferences, 2 authored books and 7 patents.
