SWAT International Workshop in Sardinia

CRS4 in collaboration with the Grassland, Soil&Water Research Laboratory of the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) and with AgriLife Research of Texas A&M University System and with the support of the Water Research Institute of the National Research Council (IRSA-CNR), the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Cagliari and Sardegna Ricerche, organizes the first SWAT International Workshop in Sardinia.
The Workshop provides practical and theoretical training centered on the use of the semi-distributed hydrological Model SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool).
The main objective of SWAT is to predict the effect of management decisions on water, sediments, nutrients and pesticide yields with reasonable accuracy on large, ungaged river basins.
The workshop is aimed at PHD and postgraduate students, scientists and environmental specialists (engineers, hydrologists, ecologists, consultants, decision-makers) of public bodies and private companies and at stakeholders involved in the analysis, protection, conservation and solution of problems related to water quantity and quality in watersheds and rivers.
The training event, divided into beginners and advanced levels, is scheduled from September 30th to October 4th, 2013 at the Science and Technology Park of Sardinia, Pula (Cagliari).
We are pleased to announce an open call for abstracts concerning studies / research works / case reports on hydrology and water quality assessment.
Authors of accepted abstracts will present their work in a brief oral presentation or in a poster.

Deadline for abstract submission: September 1st, 2013.
