CRS4, under the National Program "Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” (work-linked training) is presently hosting three students from the Motzo High School of Quartu Sant'Elena. Between 19th and 26th February 2018, Prof. Cinzia Quattrocchi's students: Ludovica Medved, Alessandra Pani and Katia Pedditzi will complete their educational internship under the guidance of Franco Tuveri and Manuela Angioni two CRS4 researchers working in the Natural Interaction and knowledge management technology group.
The students will experiment with computational linguistics, a field that studies the applications of computers in processing and analyzing the human natural language, as in automatic machine translation and text analysis. During their internship, they will will be requested to actively participate to the realisation of an application for the italian language, starting from an English lexical database. They will have the opportunity to get familiarized with a number of aspects of computational linguistics information processing and with some tools useful for the analysis of semantic and syntactical aspects of texts. Students will be encouraged to think and observe with critical mind the mechanisms underlying the web and the social networks. Special attention will be given to the accessibility of personal information that is shared on the socials and to how these infomation is used to personalize contents
