The project NETfficient (Energy and economic efficiency for today's smart communities through integrated multi storage technologies) a Horizon 2020 innovation action, has been selected by the Project Officers as "BRIDGE lighthouse project" to share their experiences during the Sustainable Energy Week 2018 (EUSEW18).
The role of CRS4 in the project NETfficient is the development and application of an expert system for the forecast of electricity production from renewable sources and consumption from households and industrial activities, as essential variables for the management of storage systems and the stabilization of the electricity grid. The project activities have been carried out by the groups "Smart Energy Systems" led by Luca Massidda and "Environmental Science" led by Marino Marrocu (in the Energy and Environment Sector, directed by Ernesto Bonomi). The research group of Alfonso Damiano of the DIEE of the University of Cagliari also contributed to the project by developing an optimal control system for the management of the medium voltage storage of the smart grid.
