CRS4 organized in Cagliari, from 13th to 15th November 2017, IHE PaLM Face To Face Meeting, the periodic Technical Committee meeting for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PaLM) for the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) consortium.
IHE is the main international institution for best-practices creation in the use of clinical standards: it involves clinicians, researchers and clinical system vendors in a collaborative discussion to define main clinical use cases and processes in profiles (IHE Profiles) and to promote standard adoption, creating and managing technical documents, including implementations guidelines, IHE Technical Frameworks.
CRS4 Healthcare Flows Program actively collaborates since 2010 with IHE PaLM Technical Committee and at the moment is the leader for the development of a new profile for specimen traceability, Specimen Event Tracking (SET) Profile.
The meeting allowed the collaboration among experts coming from Europe, Japan and United States, working together on interoperability and clinical information sharing improvement, which are essential elements for a better and safer patient care.
