Alberto Varone (CRS4) will talk about the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) that involves a wide range of stakeholders from all parts of society in a transdisciplinary process of energy transformation of Germany (Energiewende). The Research Programme of IASS cover Superconducting electric lines, Cracking Methane, Concentrating solar power systems, Unconventional Gas, Synthetic renewable fuels. Alberto Varone worked at the IASS as a senior scientist from 2011 to 2015. His research focuses on energy and environmental questions from a theoretical and a practical perspective. He headed the “Recovery of CO2 for the production of methanol” research programme, which aims to produce technical and economic assessments of technologies used in the production of sustainable fuels from renewable energies and captured CO2.
This is an internal seminar and will later be replicated.
The material will be made public on the website of the "Piattaforma Energie Rinnovabili" and on Social Network.
