During the last General Assembly held in Madrid on June 17th 2015 CRS4 became a Full Member of BDVA.
Big Data Value Association (BDVA) is the association of the European Big Data community which includes data providers, data users, data analysts and research organisations.
The association is a non-profit, industry-led organisation whose members comprise small and large European organisation from public and private sector of business, industry, academia and research that support the objectives of the Big Data Value Association.
The European Commission and the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) in October 2014 signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a public-private partnership (PPP) that aims to strengthen the data sector and put Europe at the forefront of the global data race. The EU has earmarked over €500 million of investment over 5 years (2016-2020) from Horizon 2020 which private partners are expected to match at least four times over (€2 billion). Indeed, according to the Digital Agenda for Europe, mastering the creation of value from Big Data will be a cornerstone in future economic development and societal well-being, due to its potential for impact and as an enabler for both horizontal and sector-specific gains.
CRS4 is at the forefront of research, development and application of enabling technologies for acquisition, processing, analysis, and visualization of massive data sets and it will contribute to BDVA its wide experience in big data technologies and their application to various application domains.
