The experimental trial of the web application "Sardinia Ship Supply" developed at CRS4 as part of Cagliari Port 2020 project, begins right now. Sardinia Ship Supply is aimed at supporting the logistic chain of cruise ships calling at the port of Cagliari. A typical problem in cruise provision supply chains is to find out new local suppliers who provide a certain product and are able to delivery it in great quantity and in short time. Sardinia Ship Supply deals this problem making communication between customer and supplier as easier as possible, through internal messages in form of Request for Quotations (RfQs) and chats. The testing activity involving real users will be made of two parts: first, local food suppliers will be invited to provide information about any of their products; then, the cruise ship provisioners will be able to use "Sardinia Ship Supply" to manage negotiations with them. This experimental trial is planned to last until the end of January 2019; soon after, a report about it will be released.
