International Conference: Transport in Polymeric Membranes: Modern Trends in Simulation Methods and Experimental Techniques, 15.10-18.10.2006

Welcome

The Energy and Chemical Processes Department is dedicated to the development of models and simulation techniques for materials, devices and processes mainly related to the clean energy field. Our expertise ranges from microscopic approaches (statistical mechanics and simulation techniques for soft condensed matter, Monte Carlo techniques) to more wide scale view points (transport in porous media, kinetic mechanism of combustion reactions, sensitivity analysis, electrochemical process simulations, simulations of fluid and combustion processes). Complementary expertise is available in the field of software development to manage, control and simulate complex systems (such as path planning, rapid prototyping, real-time simulators, unstable dynamic transients in gas turbine combustors). Active projects include Fuel Cell modeling for automotive and stationary applications, modeling of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis processes, modeling of solar pond for heat storage, development of real-time simulators to manage and control power plants in dynamic conditions, sails aerodynamic design.
