Prof. Bruno D'Aguanno is the responsible, both scientifically and administratively, of the Renewable Energy Program of Crs4. The Program involves 14 researchers, and it is heavily based on financial support coming from European and National Projects, as well as from national industry. The Program aims to produce models and software tools for materials, devices and systems of relevance in the energy area, with emphasis on Fuel Cells, Hydrogen and on Solar Energy Technologies.
He obtained his University degree in Chemistry at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome, and the Ph.D. degree in Physics of Condensed Matter at the International School of Advanced Studies of Trieste, Italy. His current research interests include the development of models and algorithms for the Fuel Cell design, solar pond design, microscopic material modeling (carbon nanostructures and polymeric membranes) through High Performance Computing, as well as the development of models for competitive concentrated solar power applications.
Prior to obtain its current position, he was temporary assistant professor at the Physics Department of the Konstanz University, Germany, and Scientific Employee at the Condensed Matter Department of the Free University of Berlin, Germany.
He is the author of about 70 publications, he has been the editor of monographic reviews, he published chapters in scientific books, and he has been the organizer and chairman of several International Conferences and International School.
