Yxplot, download and installation instruction

Yxplot is a very simple x-y plot program. It is written using Ygl a very nice GL emulation library. Yxplot is a rather quick and dirty job and it does stand improvement. However, it is functional and we distribute binaries for the following architectures and operating systems:

• IBM Aix 3.2.5
• SGI (IRIX Release 4.0.1 System V)
• HP-UX
• Sun (SunOS Release 4.1.3)
• DEC Alpha 3000

Activating the link below will download to your machine a gzipped tar file containing the yxplot program and a copy of this document.

Installation

To get a functional yxplot you need to do the following.

• Untar the tar file, e.g.,
  $ tar xvf yxplot.tar
$ gunzip yxplot.xxx.gz
• Install the yxplot binary in a directory listed by your execution q path, e.g.,
  $ su
$ mv yxplot.r6k /usr/local/bin/X11/yxplot
• Add to the file .mime.types the following line
  application/x-yxplot
• Add to the file .mailcap the following line
  application/x-yxplot; yxplot < %s

Now, if your WWW browser is mime compliant (e.g., NCSA Mosaic) you should be all set.
Remember to reload config files from Mosaic Option Menu whenever you make a change in .mime.types and .mailcap

Yxplot Commands:

• r Draw the sequence of frames (it's very fast)
• d Increment the plotting delay of 1 sec beetwen frames
• D Inverse of d
• f Go one step forward
• b Go one step backward
• q Esc Quit
